ALDI Now Carries the “World’s Best Pickles”

ALDI Now Carries the "World's Best Pickles"

I still owe my love of rye bread, kielbasa, sauerkraut, perogies, and of course pickles to my mother. Her Polish roots run deep, and from a young age, I remember her deep love of pickles rubbing off on me. The combination of satisfying crunch, tangy brine, and garlicky dill flavor speaks to my soul.

So when I heard this ALDI now offers Grillo's Pickles, including their classic and spicy picklesI was thrilled. These aren't just any pickles, these are the self-proclaimed “best in the world.” And I agree. Aside from my family's pickles, Grillo's are my go-to pickles. If you haven't tried a Grillo pickle yet, that's a sign you need to.

Made with simple ingredients, they deliver as close to homemade flavor as possible without raiding your babcia's root cellar.

How I use Grillo's dill cutlets

Much to my delight, pickles have been in the spotlight in recent years, with grocery stores and brands offering pickle-flavored products like hummus, falafel, salad kits, dips, and the awesome “pickle de gallo.”

Pickles are a popular taste and these products are all worth trying, but you don’t need a specialty product to get your pickle fix. A simple jar of dill (or a not-so-ordinary jar of Grillo’s) can be used for more than just sandwiches, burgers, and snacks. So if you buy some, rest assured that you won’t run out of ways to use them.

Classic and spicy chips are perfect for snacking straight from the jar. I chop them up to add to potato salad or to add some zing to a grilled cheese sandwich. This weekend we added them to our burgers and my three-year-old kept eating the spicy chips and then scratching his mouth and saying, “That’s spicy!” That didn’t stop him from eating them.

This dill pickle potato salad I created is seriously delicious. I've also had great success mixing them into a tangy dip for veggies and chips, dicing them up for a tangy taco or pizza topping, adding them to a Bloody Mary or Bloody Caesar for a little extra kick, and going back to my Polish roots and turning them into pickle soup.

When I'm out of pickles, the brine is a great addition to a salad dressing or as the base of a marinade for chicken strips or your Thanksgiving turkey. For a little acidity and tang, I also like to add a touch to soups, coleslaw, and deviled eggs.

If you're a pickle lover like me, or just pickle curious, Grillo's is the latest ALDI find you won't want to miss.
