This New $2.89 ALDI Find Wasn't On My List, but I'm So Glad I Bought It

Lately, there have been so many new products in the ALDI deli that I have to take a trip with my cart full of wedges, even though I have no intention of buying anything from that section of the store.

This is how I discovered a new and delicious blend of grated cheese. I hadn't planned on buying cheese, but as is often the case at ALDI, my plans changed.

What I like about ALDI Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese

ALDI's new Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese Blend might as well be called the triple threat. It's a blend of three sharp cheddars from Wisconsin, Vermont, and New York, and wow, is it good.

For $2.89, you get a half-pound of delicious shredded cheddar. This gorgeous blend of white and golden cheddar starts out mild and transforms into a tangy delight as you dig into it. Because it’s made from three distinct cheddars, its depth of flavor goes beyond your average shredded cheddar. It’s one of those cheeses, especially when melted, that you take one bite of and immediately want another or ten.

How I use ALDI Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese

This mouthwatering flavor pairs well with a variety of dips, like my sister's sour cream-based bacon ranch dip (it tastes as good as it looks, and that cheese would make it even better).

It's absolutely perfect for grilled cheese. It also melts well on chicken. For an easy dinner, season and then cook chicken breasts or thighs and, two to three minutes before the end of cooking, add a handful of these shreds and grill until melted.

If you like mac and cheese and cheddar, this is the mix for you because it melts easily. It would also be perfect for scalloped potatoes. The shavings would also enhance many cheesy casseroles, I'm thinking potato casseroles, tuna casseroles, and anything with pasta.

It also pairs well with salads: Chef's salads, BLT pasta salads, and summer spinach salads would all be delicious with a bit of this cheese blend. A handful of shreds melts perfectly on a burger, and it pairs especially well when bacon is part of the equation.

Finally, this is a great mix if you are making tacos or enchiladas: sprinkle it with a little Tajín seasoning for even more flavor.
