Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken or turkey
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 slider buns or small dinner rolls
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- Optional toppings: lettuce, pickles, extra cheese
Instructions
- Heat the oil: Warm 1 Tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the meat: Add 1 lb ground chicken or turkey. Break it up with a spoon and cook until no pink remains.
- Season: Stir in 1 tsp Italian seasoning, ½ tsp garlic powder, and ¼ tsp salt.
- Add sauce: Pour in 1 cup marinara sauce, stir to combine, and let simmer 3–4 minutes so flavors meld.
- Prep buns: While meat simmers, split 8 slider buns and arrange the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Assemble sliders: Spoon meat mixture evenly onto each bun base.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella over the meat.
- Broil: Place under a hot broiler for 1–2 minutes, until cheese melts and just begins to bubble—watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Finish & serve: Add the top buns, garnish with lettuce or pickles if desired, and serve immediately.
