ALDI Is Dropping Prices on Over 250 Products—Only for a Limited Time

ALDI is known for its low prices. The fan-favorite grocery store has been a lifeline for many shoppers during the past few years of rising prices, offering bargains when there were few.

Today, defying persistent inflation, ALDI announced it is lowering prices on more than 250 products. You heard me right: hundreds of products are on sale for the summer. The grocer “plans to offer shoppers $100 million in savings through Labor Day.” ALDI offered similar price reductions last year, but the estimated amount of savings is almost double for 2024.

Shoppers will find lower prices on a range of 'summer essentials', from items suitable for picnics and barbecues, to travel-ready foods. David Rinaldo, president of ALDI USA, said in a press release: “ALDI is always looking for ways to help our customers save money, but with more and more experts putting warning against persistent inflation, the time had come to offer even deeper discounts on our already low prices. …”

It's nice when a discount grocer works hard to live up to its name, and I know it makes me want to shop at the retailer more this summer. Bonus: many items are certified organic.

Although ALDI hasn't revealed exactly when these prices will go into effect, they should be available “all summer long,” so you're sure to score discounts at your local store between now and Memorial Day. Here is a small sample of the many products whose prices are reduced:

  • Simply Nature Organic Granola Bars (was $3.99, now $3.49)
  • Chicken breast in family pack* (was $2.49, now $2.19)
  • Seasonal Pick: 32-ounce frozen fries (was $2.79, now $2.49)
  • Season's Pick: Frozen Blueberries 24 oz (was $3.99, now $3.49)
  • Simply Nature: Organic Pinto Beans/Kidney Beans (was $1.16, now $0.99)
  • Simms: Summer Sausage (was $4.49, now $4.19)
  • Southern Grove: Sunflower Beans 16 oz (was $3.39, now $2.79)
  • USDA Choice Black Angus Sirloin Steak* (was $8.49, now $6.99)

Items marked with an asterisk

are only reduced until 07/10/24.

ALDI also plans to open 800 (!!!) additional stores in the United States over the next five years. With this type of aggressive growth, it's only a matter of time before almost everyone in America can take advantage of ALDI's low prices.
